3 Former FIFTYFIFTY members will continue its career

Three former members of FIFTYFIFTY, who were sued for damages by their former agency Attrakt, have moved to under take care of the IOK Company.

According to IOK Company on the 12th, they established MASSIVE E&C, a subsidiary of IOK Company, and signed exclusive contracts with three former members of the group, Saena, Aran, and Sio. The three members are new idols under Massive E&C and plan to start their activities in earnest from the second half of this year.

This confirms the willingness of all members to continue their entertainment activities. Except for Keena, who returned to Attrakt alone during the exclusive contract dispute last year, the remaining three members received a lawsuit for damages worth 13 billion won from Attrakt and are still in dispute. The public’s attention is not good because they were branded as “betrayal” for betraying their original agency, but since they have started anew, attention is focusing on whether their activities will be possible. In particular, in September, the second half of the year, the second period of the group Fifty Fifty, which will be released after reorganization by the original agency, has also been announced to face off against them.

The I.O.K. company did not comment on the circumstances that caused a stir in the music industry. Emphasizing that the trio played a pivotal role in the “Cupid” mega-hit, the company said, “We will actively support our talented and passionate members to achieve greater growth on the global stage,” adding, “We will write another success story with the players who created a success story called Cupid in the global market.”

Fifty Fifty is a group from a small and medium-sized agency, and was called a “Miracle of Small and Medium Stone” for its great achievements in overseas charts such as the U.S. and the U.K., but in June last year, less than a year after its debut, the members filed an application for an injunction to suspend the validity of the exclusive contract, drawing controversy.

The agency raised suspicions of tampering (pre-contact), believing that there was a representative of The Givers, a service company, behind it. However, the members countered that it was not related to tampering, and that there was a violation of the obligation to provide settlement data and the obligation of the members to take care of their health, and after a legal battle, the court ruled in favor of Attrakt, rejecting Fifty Fifty members’ application for an injunction.

Due to different opinions among the members, Keena submitted an appeal and returned to her agency. After she returned, the agency terminated its exclusive contract with Saena, Sio, and Aran, and completed the reorganization of Fifty Fifty with five members including Keena through a closed audition. The three former members, who returned to their activities at the risk of public criticism, and Fifty Fifty are working side by side, drawing keen attention to the move.
