Group 82Major proved the global influence of K-pop idol groups.

The 82Major (Cho Seongil, Yoon Yechan, Nam Seongmo, Hwang Seongbin, Park Seok Joon, and Kim Dogyun) was the first K-pop idol group to decorate the digital cover of The Hype Magazine, a local hip-hop magazine in the U.S. The magazine focused on the popularity of the 82Major with an article titled, “Super Rookie Makes a Sensation with the Legendary Song, 10 Minutes.”

First of all, The HYPE magazine said Lee Hyo-ri’s “10 Minutes” challenge is gaining popularity overseas amid the Y2K craze. Accordingly, 82 Major, which recently performed a remake of “10 Minutes” on various water bomb stages, is receiving considerable attention.

The Hype magazine then emphasized that 82 Major made a successful debut in U.S. radio, referring to its name ranked on the “Global Radio Chart” and the “Independent Global Chart.” In addition, citing “The Source,” which selected 82 Major as a “radio rising star,” he pointed out the group’s popularity as the 82 Major’s trendy musical sensibility and unique interpretation of the song captivated the audience.

The 82 Major recently attracted attention by appearing at Waterbomb festivals in Hong Kong and Dubai and showing intense performances. In this regard, the Seongmo said, “We had a good experience through our first overseas performance and learned what needs to be improved,” and Seongil said, “I still vividly remember the enthusiastic response of the audience.”

In particular, Yechan said, “I wanted to show something different at Waterbomb,” about the reason for the remake of Lee Hyo-ri’s “10 Minutes” into a different hip-hop version. Seok-jun added, “It’s a song that many people like, and it’s good for anyone to enjoy,” adding, “I thought it would be perfect to communicate with the audience at Waterbomb.”

Lastly, the Seongmo expressed her passion, saying, “I want to present diverse music and performances like a chameleon.” “I am constantly agonizing and practicing to present my 82major’s performance. Please look forward to it,” Sungbin said.

Earlier, famous international musicians such as Bruno Mars, T-Pain, Ty Dolla $ign, Yo Gotti, Rick Ross, B.o.B, and Eric Bellinger covered The Lower Magazine. Although 82 Major is a rookie group, it has been recognized for its global musicality and potential, matching international artists.

Meanwhile, 82 Major plans to meet with K-pop fans around the world through various stages and online and offline content in the future.
