NewJeans’ agency ADOR Demands Sincere Response from Belift Lab Over Hanni Bullying Allegations
ADOR, the agency representing K-pop girl group NewJeans, has called on Belift Lab, a fellow HYBE label, to “show a sincere attitude” regarding bullying claims involving member Hanni. This development marks a significant escalation in the ongoing controversy within the K-pop industry.
ADOR’s Official Statement
On November 27, 2024, ADOR released an official statement addressing the situation:
“This statement implements measures taken in response to the artist’s proof of content. On October 7, 2024, Belift Lab issued a statement through their X account regarding ‘disrespecting the manager’. ADOR has maintained a cautious approach to avoid unnecessary controversy, but as the issue remains unresolved, we are now revealing our position.”
Conflicting Accounts and Victim Support
ADOR emphasized the discrepancy between Belift Lab’s claims and Hanni’s recollection of events:
“Belift Lab’s claim differs completely from NewJeans member Hanni’s statement. Hanni clearly remembers a Belift Lab member making statements about ‘ignoring’ or ‘ignoring and passing by’ her on May 27, 2024. While this occurred briefly, expecting Hanni to recall all details is an overly harsh criterion for victims.”
The agency expressed full support for their artist, stating, “NewJeans members and ADOR completely trust our artists and deeply regret the damage Hanni has suffered.”
Call for Mutual Respect
ADOR concluded their statement with a plea to Belift Lab:
“We hope Belift Lab will not take Hanni’s experience lightly, show mutual respect, and demonstrate a sincere attitude to prevent unnecessary controversy involving ADOR’s artist.”
Background of the Controversy
This statement follows NewJeans’ earlier proof of contents sent to ADOR, demanding corrections. The document highlighted concerns about a HYBE statement suggesting “throwing away NewJeans and writing a new version,” and alleged negligence by label managers who told Hanni to “ignore them.”

Full ADOR Statement toward Belift Lab, New Jeans Bullying Allegation
*This statement is the implementation of the action in accordance with the artist’s proof of content.
Hello, We are ADOR.
On October 7, 2024, Belift Lab issued a statement regarding the ‘disrespecting the manager’ through the ‘notification’ with the Belift Lab X account. ADOR has been cautious so far, fearing that the factual battle may cause unnecessary controversy over the artist. However, despite our efforts, the controversy still has not been resolved, and we are clarifying our position.
Belift Lab’s argument is completely different from that of NewJeans member Hanni. Hanni clearly remembers that a member of Belift Lab made a statement on May 27, 2024, to the effect of “ignoring” or “ignoring and passing by” Hanni. And that it happened in a relatively short period of time and that Hanni must remember everything about the situation at the time to take issue with it is too harsh and strict a yardstick for the victim. Both ADOR and the members fully trust our artists and truly feel sorry for the damage Hanni has suffered.
Please show mutual respect without taking Hanni’s damage lightly, and show sincerity to prevent unnecessary controversy over the artist belonging to ADOR.
