ADOR Requests Use of Official Name NewJeans Instead of NJZ
ADOR, the agency involved in a contract dispute with the five members of NJZ (formerly NewJeans), has urged the use of the official name “NewJeans” instead of NJZ. This request comes after the members announced plans to continue their activities under the new name NJZ without ADOR’s consent.
ADOR’s Official Statement
On February 10, ADOR stated that the members had revealed plans to use a new group name without prior agreement. ADOR emphasized that the exclusive contract between NewJeans and ADOR remains legally valid and requested that the media use the official name “NewJeans” based on this valid contract.

Legal Proceedings
ADOR has filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the contract and is awaiting a court judgment. Additionally, they have applied for an injunction to maintain their agency status and prevent unauthorized activities by the group. The first hearing for this injunction is scheduled for March 7.
Background on the Dispute
The members of NewJeans, including Minji, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, and Hyein, announced their new name NJZ on February 7, 2025, and expressed excitement about their future activities under this name. However, ADOR maintains that any activities under a new name without their consent are unauthorized and could lead to legal consequences.
