aespa Karina First Pitch Ceremony is unsure?
Previously, aespa Karina first pitch ceremony was fixed, which made fans scream in enthusiasm. Karina wearing a clothing that was inspired by baseball uniform, and having a ceremony in a bing stadium, that made fans thrilled. Especially, this time the first pitch ceremony was not happening in Seoul, but at ‘Busan Sajik Stadium,’ which made Busan citizens to have a chance to see aespa Karina.
According to KBO, Karina was invited to pitch the third game between SSG Landers and Lotte Giants in the “2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League” at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan on the afternoon of the 9th.
However, meeting Karina could not happen for fans.
Why not sure about it?
It was expected that Karina would be able to throw her first pitch, but some predicted that her chances of throwing her first pitch on the day is low. As the second game was canceled due to rain on the 8th, the groups have to play two double headers on the day. As a result, SSG Landers and Lotte Giants will play a double header game on the day, and the second game started from 2 p.m. The third game can begin after about 30 minutes to an hour of ground maintenance after the second game.
aespa Karina, who was invited to throw the first pitch of the third game, was originally scheduled to throw the first pitch at the game that began at 5 p.m. However, the aespa, the team where Karina belongs, has a schedule for a fan signing event in Daegu that starts at 8 p.m. on the same day.
Some fans said that Karina can only throw the first pitch if the third game is held at 5 p.m. as scheduled, and that Karina’s first pitch is likely to fail unless the second game ends at 4 p.m. Usually, baseball takes more than three hours per game on average, so it is unlikely that the game will begin at 5 p.m.
Before aespa Karina first pitch ceremony official notice has made, fans were curious if she will appear at the stadium or not. So as the first fan sign event started, the fans asked if she will be doing the first pitch. Karina wrote a comment under her autograph saying, “I wanted to do first pitch…,” which seemed to mean that Karina first pitch ceremony was cancelled. Some fans are mad that SM might lose the chance of first pitch because of two offline fan sign events. However, nothing has been decided.
