aespa WHIPLASH, the 5th album to reach million seller!
Group aespa has become a fifth consecutive million seller.
As of November 7, aespa’s fifth mini-album “Whiplash” recorded accumulated sales of about 1.02 million copies on the circle chart, winning its fifth million seller title.
It is the record of selling more than 1 million albums in five consecutive years, from the second mini-album “Girls” released earlier to the third mini-album “MY WORLD”, the fourth mini-album “Drama” , and the first full-length album “Armageddon.” aespa, in particular, achieved million sales of both “Armageddon” and “Whiplash,” which were introduced this year, solidifying the title of the best hitmaker in the music industry in the first and second half of this year.
In addition, on the first day of its release with “Whiplash,” aespa debuted at 53rd place on Spotify, the world’s largest music platform, and ranked highest among K-pop girl group songs released in 2024, as well as succeeded in entering Billboard’s world album, Global 200 (excluding the U.S.), Global 200, and Billboard 200 charts in the second week of November, proving its global music power once again.
The fifth mini-album “Whiplash,” released on October 21, includes a total of six songs to enjoy the growing music world of aespa, including the title song “Whiplash” of the EDM-based techno genre, as well as the songs “Kill It,” “Flights, Not Feelings,” “Pink Hoodie,” “Flowers,” and “Just Another Girl.”
