When Lisa attended Crazy Horse Show in Paris, people were having debates over her. Some said it is just an action of art, and some said it is just an obscene strip show. CNN Hong Kong reported on November 1 that “Black Pink Lisa’s biggest social media page in China, Weibo has been closed.” The media explained that the closure of Lisa’s Weibo account appears to be the aftermath of Lisa’s Crazy Horse performance in Paris, France, in September. The Weibo accounts of Black Pink’s other members are still existing. It is assumed that ‘The Chinese Directors Association’ strictly prohibits the promotion of vulgar and obscene performances as well as crimes such as gambling, drugs, and violence as a rule to maintain dignity. Previously, reportedly Angela Baby was edited out from the drama because she watched Lisa’s Crazy Horse Show.
Weibo’s Announcement
Weibo announced, “The account of Lisa can no longer be viewed, because it has received complaints from Weibo Community Management Regulations about violations of relevant regulations and regulations.” It did not specifically disclose which regulations and laws were violated but shut the account.
Reactions of Luxury Brands
The aftermath of the performance also affected the two luxury brands, where Lisa is working as a global ambassador. Reportedly BVLGARI and Celine China have deleted posts related to Lisa from their official Weibo (social network service). The CEO of BVLGARI is also known to have hidden or deleted Lisa-related photos from his social media account.
So it seems they are be wary of the Chinese government’s strong policies. Because all of these aftermath were just limited to China. So Lisa attending Crazy Horse Show may have affect her activity in China, but not all of her career.
On the other hand, Lisa’s friend Diana Flipo mentioned Lisa’s contract status with YG.
