andTEAM Samidare, proving the group’s growth
“HYBE’s Global Group” &Team proved its rapid growth by setting its own new record.
According to Billboard Japan’s weekly chart “Top Single Sales” released on May 6 to 12, &TEAM’s first single “Samidare” (EJ,Fuma,K, Nicholas, Yuma, Jo, Harua, Taki, and Maki) ranked second with 446,615 sales. The number of 446,615 sales more than tripled compared to the 133,165 sales of &TEAM’s first full-length album, ‘First Howling: NOW’.
&TEAM also ranked second in the weekly single ranking released by Oricon of Japan on the same day (May 20/counting period May 6 to 12). They previously topped Oricon’s Daily Singles Ranking (May 10 and 13) and Korea’s Circle Chart Retail Album Chart (May 8).
Music Video gaining attention
The music video for “Samidare,” the title song of the same name with the new album, is also receiving positive responses. The music video for andTeam Samidare exceeded 10 million views on the 14th, six days after its release. This is a record that accelerates a day from the previous record, title track of the first full-length album, “War Cry,” reached 10 million views.
&TEAM’s new song ‘Samidare’ is a work that talks about the conflicts, concerns, and strong bonds of boys. It contains a total of three songs, including the title track ‘Samidare’, ‘Scar to Scar’, and ‘Maybe’, and it is complete with the participation of prominent musicians such as Bang Si-hyuk, Soma Genda and Slow Rabbit, J-pop hit maker Sano Yuuki, and Melanie Fontana and Lindgren, who made BTS’s ‘Boy With Luv’ (Feat. Halsey).
Meanwhile, &TEAM will hold its first arena tour since its debut in four Japanese cities, starting with Tokyo, Japan, on July 20-21, Hyogo (July 25-26), Fukuoka (August 17-18), and Aichi (September 28-29).
