Bae Jinyoung Denies “We Got Married”-Style Shoot with I-DLE Miyeon: “It Was Just a Game”

Singer Bae Jinyoung has officially denied rumors surrounding his recent appearance with I-DLE’s Miyeon, clarifying that their shoot was not romantic in nature.

In a recent interview with Spotv News ahead of his first solo mini album “STILL YOUNG,” Bae addressed the speculation directly:

“It wasn’t a ‘We Got Married’-style concept at all,” he said.

The controversy began when YouTube channel Trip Code released a teaser featuring the two appearing to go on a date, accompanied by captions such as “Traveling with a stranger” and “Raise your heart rate.” The teaser quickly sparked debate online, with some viewers questioning the project’s intent and calling it “unnecessary content.” The video was later made private following the backlash.

Bae Jinyoung explained that the misunderstanding came from the editing of the teaser rather than the actual filming concept.

“When I saw headlines comparing it to We Got Married, I was confused,” he shared. “At first, I didn’t even know who the other person was — not even their gender. It was just a game meant to raise our heart rates, not a love concept.”

A New Chapter: Bae Jinyoung’s Solo Album “STILL YOUNG”

Bae’s first solo mini album, “STILL YOUNG,” carries multiple layered meanings:

  • STILL, symbolizing his steady passion,
  • STEEL, representing his growth and strength,
  • YOUNG, for youthful drive and creativity,
  • and 0, a nod to new beginnings.

The album showcases Bae’s evolving artistry through five tracks: “Round and Round” (title track), “Playlist,” “Thrill,” “Click,” and “Songs About You.”

The title track, “Round and Round,” combines alternative hip-hop sounds with sleek production, capturing fleeting emotions from late-night moments. Its understated rhythm and mood-driven lyrics emphasize Bae’s tone, expression, and individuality as a vocalist.

“I Want People to Recognize My Potential”

Reflecting on his goals as a solo artist, Bae said,

“I want people to see my potential and look forward to my next album. More than anything, I want to enjoy this process with my team and fans.”

He also mentioned that while fans are always supportive, he welcomes honest feedback:

“My fans say so many kind things, and I’m grateful. But I also ask for genuine opinions. I know some might be surprised by the concept photos, but I hope they’ll see it as just another side of Jinyoung and love it anyway.”

Bae Jinyoung’s first solo mini album “STILL YOUNG” was released on October 14 at 6 PM KST on all major streaming platforms.
