Baidu VP’s 13-Year-Old Daughter Revealed as IVE Wonyoung’s Cyberbully Information Leaker
In a shocking turn of events, the individual who leaked personal information of cyberbullies targeting IVE member Jang Wonyoung has been identified as the 13-year-old daughter of a Baidu vice president.
Baidu VP’s Public Apology
On March 18, Chinese media reported that Xie Guangjun, a vice president at Baidu, posted a statement on Weibo acknowledging that his daughter was responsible for leaking the personal information of Jang Wonyoung’s cyberbullies.
“My 13-year-old daughter, unable to control her emotions after an online argument, shared others’ personal information on her overseas social media account,” Xie stated. He expressed deep remorse for failing to teach his daughter the importance of protecting others’ privacy and offered a sincere apology to those affected.

The Incident and Its Implications
The controversy began when a pregnant woman, identified as Ms. A, became the target of online attacks on Weibo. A female user, later revealed to be Xie’s daughter, led the attacks and distributed personal information of nearly 100 internet users, including Ms. A.
The young girl had boasted about her father’s high position at Baidu and claimed immunity from legal consequences due to her location in Canada. However, internet users managed to uncover her identity through online order forms, employment certificates, and salary statements.
Legal Consequences
Under Chinese law, selling or providing personal information to others can result in up to three years of imprisonment or detention and fines in severe cases. This incident has sparked a broader discussion about online privacy, cyberbullying, and the responsibilities of both parents and tech companies in managing online behavior.
