BIGHIT Rookie Group CORTIS Named “Coolest K-Pop Debut of the Year” by Rolling Stone
BigHit Music’s new boy group CORTIS (Martin, James, Joohoon, Sunghyun, Geonho) will make their debut on August 18 — and they’re already making headlines. U.S. music magazine Rolling Stone has picked them as “the coolest K-pop debut of the year.”
Breaking the Mold in K-Pop
Rolling Stone praised CORTIS for “breaking away from existing molds with a freer, raw charm.” The outlet wrote, “After months of anticipation and rumors, a new act from the label behind BTS and TXT has finally been unveiled.” It’s a sign that the excitement for BigHit Music’s newest team is spreading well beyond Korea.
Creative Skills Front and Center
The group’s creativity was a major focus. On August 11, CORTIS dropped the official music video for GO!, the intro track to their debut album. The next day, they released a conceptual performance film. The members said it took just “two to three days” to come up with the GO! choreography — a detail that caught the magazine’s attention.

The article also stressed that the CORTIS members are deeply involved in all of their work.

Their debut album COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES will be released on September 8 at 6 p.m. — officially kicking off CORTIS’s journey as a K-pop group.
