BLACKPINK 10 Billion won DOWN PAYMENT?
On March 21st, there was a post guessing Blackpink down payment was near 10 billion won. (approximately 7.51 million dollars). The guess started with the release of YG Entertainment’s 2023 business report.
According to YG Entertainment’s 2023 business report released on the 21st, YG acquired an exclusive down payment of 41.185 billion won last year.
Exclusive down payment refers to the amount acquired by signing an exclusive contract between YG and artists. Except for the renewal of contract with BLACKPINK, and the new debut of BABYMONSTER,YG had no noticeable recruitment.
Because of this, many assume that most of the exclusive down payment has been made to Blackpink, who has renewed the contract as a group.
Last year, YG did not recruit any new artists and reportedly did not renew contracts with other artists except for Blackpink. For this reason, it seems that each member of Blackpink received a contract payment worth up to 10 billion won.
Following the Blackpink down payment, attention is being paid to how many years Black Pink and YG have been contracted. People are saying if the down payment is 10 Billion won, it won’t be a year contract.
Meanwhile, when the contract renewal happened December, last year YG announced Blackpink will release a new album and hold a world tour with YG’s support. However, none of the four members signed a separate additional contract for individual activities, and Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa each established a one-person agency and are on their own.
