BLACKPINK Completes Album Jacket Shoot Ahead of First Full Comeback in 3 Years
BLACKPINK members are officially gearing up for their long-awaited return as a full group. On May 27, reports confirmed that the group recently wrapped up shooting the album jacket for their upcoming release, with executive producer Yang Hyun-suk personally leading the project. This marks their first full-group comeback since their second studio album BORN PINK in September 2022.
According to industry sources, the shoot took place at an undisclosed location in Seoul last week and was said to be on a global scale. YG Entertainment’s founder Yang Hyun-suk teased fans through a blog post on May 26, saying, “We’ll be able to announce BLACKPINK’s new song soon,” suggesting a full album release is imminent rather than a single.
Although YG has refrained from confirming exact dates, industry watchers predict the new album will drop sometime around their upcoming world tour. In fact, a dedicated task force has been in place at YG since last year to support BLACKPINK’s return and tour preparations, signaling how closely Yang is involved with the process.
All four Blackpink members—Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo, and Lisa—have successfully built out solo careers over the past year and are now returning to group activities with renewed focus. They are reportedly participating in album work with a strong sense of trust in both Yang and their original label, despite parting ways with YG in late 2023.

Comeback to Align with New World Tour?
BLACKPINK is expected to kick off their next world tour at Goyang Sports Complex on July 5–6. While YG has not confirmed whether new songs will be performed during the concerts, fans are anticipating a sneak peek of the upcoming album.
This tour will span 31 shows across 16 cities, including stadium-level venues in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Paris, Milan, London, Tokyo, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila, and more. Given that BORN PINK became the highest-grossing tour by a girl group in history, expectations are sky-high for this new round.
The new tour will not only feature BLACKPINK’s classic hits but is also expected to showcase multiple solo songs released by the members during their hiatus.
A Powerful Lineup of Solo Careers of Blackpink members
After departing from YG at the end of 2023, the members have established individual paths. Rosé joined The Black Label, while Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo founded their own agencies. All four have seen significant success: Rosé’s duet with Bruno Mars, “Apartment,” has spent 30 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, the longest ever for a female K-pop artist.
Jennie and Lisa lit up the stage at Coachella 2025 in California last month, earning global attention for their bold solo performances. Jisoo has been active in both music and acting, cementing her status as a multi-hyphenate artist.
Blackpink members, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa also made waves earlier this month with their joint appearance at the 2025 Met Gala, reinforcing their presence as global fashion icons.
With album work in full swing and their world tour just weeks away, BLACKPINK is poised to make one of the biggest comebacks of the year.
