Boys 2 Planet Kim Geonwoo Faces Bullying Allegations from Former Trainees

Explosive claims surface just hours before Mnet survival show premieres

Kim Geonwoo, a contestant and current center for the K-Planet team on Mnet’s new audition program Boys 2 Planet, is facing serious bullying allegations from his time as a trainee at a previous agency.

On July 17, a detailed post was uploaded to social media, accusing Kim of abusing his influence while training under “B Entertainment” roughly two years ago. According to the author (referred to as A), Kim was nicknamed “The King of B Entertainment” due to excessive favoritism from high-ranking staff. Most employees allegedly treated him like a superior, giving him unchecked power over other trainees.

“He bullied trainees for fun,” says whistleblower

The post alleges that Kim:

  • Called all trainees together to berate them if they failed to greet him first, but ignored those who did;
  • Repeatedly cursed at fellow trainees during group dance practice;
  • Forced others to rehearse the same move for hours without air conditioning;
  • Denied them permission to leave or practice solo unless they passed his personal approval.

A claimed that these actions caused significant distress among younger, mostly underage trainees. While some attempted to confront him, they were met with harsh verbal attacks. Several eventually left the company, even paying penalties to break their contracts.

Former trainee reveals evidence and mental health impact

The whistleblower included photos of official documents, including a trainee contract and an envelope from B Entertainment, along with screenshots of conversations related to Kim’s appearance on Boys 2 Planet. A also shared psychiatric treatment records, stating they are still undergoing therapy due to the experience.

To address skepticism, A wrote, “I wouldn’t risk a lawsuit or my future just to prevent one person from debuting. My therapy notes detail everything. If needed, I’ll release them after hearing Kim Geonwoo’s side.”

Additionally, A claimed Kim is trying to silence other contestants on the show who know about his past, suggesting he’s aware of his wrongdoing.

Mnet under pressure as controversy overshadows premiere

Boys 2 Planet, the successor to Boys Planet (which launched ZEROBASEONE), features 160 trainees and a new K/C-Planet system split by language. The allegations against a central contestant have stirred immediate backlash online.

As of now, Mnet has not released an official statement regarding the controversy. It is important to note that the accusations remain unverified, and no conclusions should be drawn until all sides are heard.
