BTS member Jimin has officially addressed his rumored relationship with actress Song Da-eun, confirming that they dated in the past but are no longer together.
On August 31, BigHit Music released a statement acknowledging the rumors, stating:
“While we have remained silent to respect Jimin’s privacy and the other party involved, we feel compelled to clarify due to continued speculation and inaccurate reports.”
They clarified that the relationship occurred several years ago and that the two are no longer in contact romantically.
Viral Video Sparks Another Dating Rumor
The clarification came after Song Da-eun uploaded a video on TikTok showing her meeting a man—believed to be Jimin—at an elevator in Nine One Hannam, Jimin’s known residence in Yongsan, Seoul.
The video quickly went viral, prompting renewed rumors about their relationship.
This is not the first time Song has stirred controversy. She has repeatedly posted photos and videos implying a relationship with Jimin since 2022. These include a shared earphone case, BTS merchandise, and a blurred figure from Run BTS believed to be Jimin.
Jimin Puts Rumors to Rest After 3 Years
BigHit stated this is the first and final clarification. Jimin’s acknowledgment of the past relationship marks his first public comment on the matter in over 3 years.
“We ask that fans refrain from spreading speculation or engaging in actions that may cause harm to either party.”
Song Da-eun had previously both denied and hinted at the relationship in conflicting live streams, and is now facing criticism for possibly sharing private footage without consent. If proven, legal repercussions under Korean privacy and communication laws may apply.
