BTS Jimin Quietly Donates ₩100 Million to Jeonbuk—His 6th Education Donation Since 2019
Regional Education Support Continues Through Private, Low-Key Acts
BTS member Jimin has donated ₩100 million (approximately $73,000 USD) to the Jeonbuk Office of Education, continuing his long-standing tradition of quietly supporting public education across South Korea. The donation, which took place without any media ceremony or official event, is his sixth contribution to a regional education office since 2019.
On September 25, Jeonbuk education officials revealed that Jimin’s father, Park Hyun-soo, contacted them in July 2025to convey his son’s intention to donate. The funds were deposited on September 18 to the Jeonbuk Scholarship Foundation account. At Jimin’s request, the entire process was kept low-profile, without publicity or in-person meetings.
The donation will go toward academic support for low-income students within the province, helping to reduce educational inequality.
Six Donations, Six Provinces: Jimin’s Long-Term Commitment to Students
Jimin’s recent gift follows previous ₩100 million donations to the Busan, Jeonnam, Gangwon, Chungbuk, and Gyeongnam education offices, bringing the total to six provinces in six years. Each contribution has been used for scholarship programs, school development, and book donations—quiet but impactful initiatives that reach students in underserved communities.
Starting in 2019 with a donation to his hometown of Busan, Jimin has built a reputation for consistent and low-key philanthropy. His choice to give through official education offices ensures that funds are transparently allocated and directly benefit students most in need.
