BTS Jin Hug Event Successful? or Not?
While the group BTS Jin (real name Kim Seok Jin) safely finished the free hug event with as many as 1,000 people, some of the fans who caused the problematic actions made people frowning.
Jin held “Jin’s Greetings” at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium on the 13th, a day after his discharge, during an offline event of “2024 BTS FESTA” and met with fans.
This was a light hug event that reflected Jin’s willingness to spend a meaningful time close to the fandom Army, and as many as 1,000 people were scheduled to attend, it drew attention.
In particular, Jin said on a live broadcast the day before, “I’m going to do a free hug! I’m going to hold a sign and hug all the fans who have been waiting for me!” and confessed why he planned the event even though he had a disagreement with the company. As he said, Jin appeared with a sign with the words “Hug Me” around his neck and met with numerous fans after a long wait.
Jin’s love for fans was outstanding as soon as he was discharged from the military, but some fans raised eyebrows at some fans’ unexpected behavior on the day. Other fans’ cameras caught fans trying to kiss Jin or kissing him on the cheek. As the footage spread online, it drew fans’ ire as it was not a thing that Jin agreed with. Critics say that even though Jin planned the event with good intentions, such actions have tarnished its meaning. It was something that fans were worried before the show.
Meanwhile, the BTS FESTA celebrates its debut day (June 13) every year, and Jin attended an offline event (BTS Jin Hug Event) to decorate the grand finale this year. The BTS is taking a break from group activities as the rest of the members except Jin are away for military service. The entire group is planning to perform in 2025.
