BTS Jin Volunteers in Andong Wildfire Relief Efforts: “I Wanted to Help”
BTS member Jin has personally stepped up to support wildfire victims by volunteering in Andong, South Korea. On April 3, his agency, BigHit Music, confirmed that Jin participated in meal service at a shelter for wildfire evacuees, emphasizing his desire to provide even a small amount of help to those affected.
BTS Jin’s Volunteer Efforts
Jin was spotted at Gilan Middle School in Andong’s Gilan-myeon, where he assisted with meal distribution at a temporary shelter for wildfire victims. The site was set up as a free meal station by The Born Korea, led by renowned chef Baek Jong-won. Jin, dressed casually in a black cap and mask, quietly joined the efforts, serving food and offering words of encouragement to the evacuees. His humble participation added warmth to the relief efforts.
BigHit Music stated, “It is true that Jin visited the site. He wanted to contribute in some way to help those who have been impacted by the wildfires.”
Background on the Relief Site
The free meal station at Gilan Middle School has been operational since March 28 under the leadership of Baek Jong-won and The Born Korea team. They have been preparing approximately 1,000 meals daily for wildfire evacuees and firefighters. Jin’s participation in these efforts highlights his dedication to supporting those in need.
Jin’s Philanthropic Activities
This is not the first time Jin has engaged in charitable activities. Earlier this year, he donated 100 million KRW to Korea University Medical Center to support patients with rare diseases in underdeveloped countries. He is also a member of UNICEF Korea’s Honors Club for high-value donors.
