BTS SUGA DUI issue is getting serious?

It is reported that the blood alcohol level was more than 0.2% when BTS Suga, was charged with driving under the influence of electric scooters, was caught.

The Dong-A Ilbo reported on the 9th that Suga’s blood alcohol level was 0.227% when he was charged with drunk driving. The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul booked Suga for drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act on the 6th and conducted a breath test, and the results were found.

Unlike Suga’s previous statement that he rode an electric kickboard, the confirmation revealed that it was an electric scooter, which was controversial. In particular, the electric scooter driven by Suga is classified as a motorized bicycle and will be subject to criminal punishment on the same basis as driving under the influence of a car.

Suga’s blood alcohol concentration of 0.227% is a level that increases sentencing, and under the current law, if the blood alcohol level is 0.2% or more, it can be sentenced to more than two years and up to five years in prison or fined 10 million to 20 million won. If the blood alcohol concentration is 0.08% or more and less than 0.2%, you will be sentenced to more than one year and up to two years in prison or fined 5 million to 10 million won. If the blood alcohol concentration is 0.08% or more, the license cannot be reacquired for a year, along with the revocation of the license.

Suga was quoted as saying, “I drank a glass of beer and drove for a while.” According to the police, no administrative disposition has been taken to revoke Suga’s license, and the extent of damage caused by drunk driving, driving distance, circumstances, and criminal records will be investigated.

Meanwhile, Suga’s agency, Big Hit Music, said about the expression of the electric scooter as an electric kickboard, “As you say, there was no intention of reducing the issue at all. I apologize again for not being able to take a closer look and for the hasty words as a result. If the classification of the investigative agency for the product is decided in the future, we will faithfully fulfill our responsibilities.”
