CJ ENM BOYS II PLANET: Revolutionary K-pop Global Twin Project for 2025
CJ ENM, the powerhouse behind successful K-pop audition programs, is set to launch BOYS PLANET second season in 2025, revolutionizing the global boy group creation process. This groundbreaking project marks the world’s first simultaneous production of K-pop global audition programs in two different regions.
Building on the success of BOYS PLANET Season 1, which aired from February to April 2023 and formed the popular group ZEROBASEONE (ZB1), CJ ENM aims to expand its reach further. ZEROBASEONE, comprising nine members selected from 98 global contestants, has already announced their first world tour for 2024, covering cities from Seoul to Yokohama.
BOYS II PLANET introduces a revolutionary “Twin Project” concept. The project will feature two separate shows, “Boyz 2 Planet K” in Korean and “Boyz 2 Planet C” in Chinese, which will run concurrently based on the same format and worldview. How to apply the audition program
Aspiring participants for BOYS II PLANET must meet specific criteria. The program is open to boys born before January 1, 2012, regardless of their nationality. Applicants have the freedom to choose between the “K” and “C” versions of the show, allowing for a diverse range of talents to showcase their skills. The application deadline is set for January 26, 2025, giving potential contestants ample time to prepare. It’s worth noting that individuals who previously applied for “Planet B,” a pre-audition project for BOYS II PLANET, are not required to submit a new application.
CP Kim Shin-young, the executive producer who also directed the previous “Boys Planet” season, emphasizes the project’s global potential. The decision to include a Chinese-language version alongside the Korean one is strategic, aiming to reach approximately 1.5 billion Chinese speakers worldwide.
