So as K-POP is bold, challenging and moving its boundary more and more, they do not just stay in K-POP. They mix present and past perfectly. When classic get mixed, it becomes high-end. So because of it many artists mixing and using Classic in K-POP. Sampling classic is not a weird choice, but classy and smart choice. Let’s see some artists, who picked to use Classic in K-POP.

RED VELVET

As Red Velvet would come back in November, let’s see the artist first. Red Velvet used ‘Bach – Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068, Air‘ in ‘Feel My Rhythm‘. ‘Feel My Rhythm’ is a title for EP: The ReVe Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm’ released on March 21st, 2022.

BLACK PINK

Black Pink, the idol who always shock fandom with classy stylish songs used classic, too. Black Pink’s second full length album,’Born Pink’ title, ‘Shut Down’ used it. The beginning of the third movement of Italian composer Niccolò Paganini’s second violin concerto, commonly known as ‘La Campanella‘ is used.

(G)I-DLE

(G)I-Dle has the outstanding producing member, So Yeon. So Yeon likes to make a song in a creative way, and she used classic, too. In (G)I-dle’s song ‘NXDE’, she used an aria from Georges Bizet’s 1875 opera comique Carmen, ‘Habanera’.

IVY

IVY, now who is actress acting in musicals, sampled classic in her sensational song ‘Sonata of Temptation’. She used ‘Beethoven: Bagatelle No.25 in A Minor Woo.59 ‘Fur Elise’ in her song to make it more high-end and it worked perfectly.

Brown Eyed Girls

One of the most famous vocal girl group, Brown Eyed Girls used classic in their song, ‘Sixth Sense’. They used ‘Shostakovich: Symphony No.7 in C major, Op.60 ‘Leningrad’-4 Allegro‘. It matched perfectly with the gorgeous high notes.

Shinhwa

Shinhwa, one of the oldest idol who are still being active used classic, too. They even used it on April 15, 1999 which is like 25 years ago. The song called T.O.P. (Twinkling of Paradise) used  ‘Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake‘.

So many idols used Classic in K-POP, which made song one step ahead. Maybe the classic samplings helped the songs to become a hit song.
