CORTIS Becomes 2025 Top Rookie in First-Week Sales—Ranks 4th All-Time Among K-pop Debut Albums
CORTIS, often dubbed the “BTS little brother group,” is seeing major success with their debut album COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES.
According to Hanteo Chart data released on September 15, the group (members Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, and Gunho) topped the daily physical album chart for two consecutive days (Sept 14–15) and ranked No. 2 on the weekly chart for the period of September 8–14 with 436,367 copies sold.
This makes CORTIS the best-selling rookie of 2025 in terms of first-week album sales, known in K-pop as “initial Chodong.” Among boy groups, CORTIS is the only rookie this year to surpass 400,000 units sold in week one. The result places them No. 4 all-time in K-pop debut album first-week sales.
Chart Domination: Apple Music, Spotify, and Viral Momentum
CORTIS is also making waves on streaming platforms. As of September 13, they placed three songs in the Top 10 of Apple Music Korea’s “Today’s Top 100”:
- “GO!” – No. 4
- “What You Want” (title track) – No. 8
- “FaSHioN” (follow-up single) – No. 10
Their title track also hit No. 1 on Spotify’s “Daily Viral Songs – Global” for seven consecutive days (Sept 1–7), while “GO!” topped the same chart for three consecutive days (Sept 9–11). No other rookie in 2025 has reached No. 1 on this global Spotify chart.
A New Era Under BigHit Music
CORTIS is the first new group launched by BigHit Music in six years, following BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. Branded as a “young creator crew,” the five members co-produce their music, choreography, and visual content, offering a collaborative creative identity.
They are currently promoting “FaSHioN” on music shows, following “GO!” and “What You Want.” Known for their stable live vocals and commanding stage presence, CORTIS continues to earn attention as one of the most impactful rookie groups of 2025.
