ENHYPEN and CJ ENM conflict?
So on October 19, 2023 Mnet announced all nominates of MAMA awards and started the voting. The names of prominent candidates in each category were mentioned by the hosting of Lee Hye Sung, a former announcer, and rapper Han Hae. However, it wasn’t easy to find ENHYPEN’s name. The name of ‘ENHYPEN’ was just on ‘World Wide Fans’ Choice‘. Of course, not every artist can be on every category, however it is unusual for the group like ENHYPEN.
ENHYPEN was most likely to be registered as candidate to ‘THE MALE GROUP’ and ‘BEST DANCE PERFORMANCE BOY GROUP’. However, their name was absent. For the male group candidates, EXO, NCT DREAM, SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, and more were on the list. For best dance performance, 6 groups were in it. NCT 127, NCT Dream, SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, Tomorrow X Together, and ZEROBASEONE.
CURIOUSITY OCCUR
Fans questioned that ENHYPEN’s this year record was not bad compared to other groups. ENHYPEN’s mini album “Dark Blood,” released on May 22, not only recorded 1.32 million sales on first week of its release, surpassed its last third mini album. It was not just on physical albums but also recorded nicely on global chart, too. The group successfully completed its mini-album activities by achieving “career high” in many areas. So fans thought they will be nominated for similar amount of categories. However, they were nominated just for one category.
