EXO Baekhyun Becomes 1st Korean Artist to Reach Diamond Level on China’s Weibo “Super Topic”

EXO member and solo artist Baekhyun has become the first Korean national celebrity to reach Diamond Level 1 on Weibo’s Super Topic (超话)—a major milestone on China’s largest social media platform.
The Super Topic is a unique feature on Weibo that functions as a fan-driven community centered around a specific artist, work, or theme. It’s not just a hashtag—it’s an official forum where fans can post content, engage in discussions, and collectively boost visibility for the topic. It’s also a critical indicator of fandom size and engagement in China, and is monitored weekly.
Super Topics are ranked by nine tiers, divided into Silver, Gold, and Diamond levels, each with three sub-levels. As of September 1, Baekhyun reached Diamond Level 1 with his personal Super Topic, making him the only Korean celebrity to do so.
Record-Breaking Momentum from Macau Concerts
This achievement comes on the heels of Baekhyun’s “Reverie” world tour concerts in Macau on August 30–31. Ahead of the shows, Baekhyun held a Weibo live broadcast that drew over 2.19 million viewers, fueling excitement and buzz across social platforms.
During the concerts, his name and related content surged across trending lists on Chinese social media. A cover of a local song and a TikTok-style “challenge” performed live quickly spread across Douyin (China’s TikTok), dominating the top 3 spots on its Culture & Entertainment trend charts.

Baekhyun’s latest milestone underscores his enduring popularity in China and his growing global footprint. Known for his powerful vocals, fan engagement, and consistent solo output, Baekhyun continues to stand out both as an EXO member and as a solo act.
