EXO-CBX Accuse SM executives

EXO’s CBX has begun legal action against SM Entertainment.

According to the industry, EXO-CBX and his agency INB100 filed a complaint with the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul on the 25th against SM Entertainment Co-CEO Lee Sung-soo and Tak Young-joon on charges of fraud under the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (Special Police Act).

Earlier, EXO-CBX, originally members of SM, filed an exclusive contract dispute with SM last year, but it was closed once. At that time, CBX insisted on terminating the exclusive contract, saying that SM did not provide settlement data. SM later refuted the claim by claiming tampering, pointing to MC Mong and PIC Group Chairman Cha Ji-won as the forces behind CBX.

Later, after negotiating with SM, EXO-CBX set up their own company to engage in its own activities, but recently entered the subsidiary of an entertainment agency established by MC Mong and Chairman Cha Ga-won. SM Entertainment has pointed out that it was a “tampering of friendship.”

Chairman Cha Ga-won, EXO-CBX’s legal representative, and INB100 CEO Kim Dong-joon, the representative of EXO-CBX’s agency, held a press conference on the 10th and hinted at legal action, saying, “SM is demanding 10% of sales without keeping the 5.5% distribution fee promise.”

SM denied the claim by EXO-CBX and again pointed out that it was tampering. It also filed a lawsuit against the Seoul Eastern District Court for the performance of the contract.
