EXO-CBX Press Conference against SM Entertainment
EXO’s CBX holds an emergency press conference.
EXO-CBX’s agency INB100 announced an emergency press conference at 4 p.m. today (10th) in Seoul. At the scene, Chairman Cha Ga-won of INB100 parent company One Hundred, INB100 CEO Kim Dong-joon, and lawyers will attend. EXO Chen Baekhyun and Xiumin, the artists, will not be present.
According to INB100, EXO subunit, EXO-CBX (Chen Baekhyun and Xiumin) smoothly completed legal actions such as termination of exclusive contracts and filing complaints from the Fair Trade Commission in June last year through a joint statement with SM Entertainment.
INB100 said, “At that time, both sides resolved the situation through negotiations because they thought it was more important for EXO to work normally, and according to the agreement at the time, INB100 was established to work as an artist’s individual name and EXO-CBX.”
However, “SM Entertainment is requesting INB100, the agency of EXO-CBX, to provide ’10 percent of the artist’s individual activity sales’ while ignoring the negotiations that are the premise of the agreement. INB100 has sent proof of unfairness, but SM Entertainment has not responded for more than two months,” the official said. “INB100 is going to file a press conference against SM Entertainment’s unfair treatment.”
Earlier, EXO-CBX had a conflict with SM in June last year over unfair long-term contracts and claims of opaque settlement, but made a dramatic settlement. Since then, in January this year, Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin have been active in INB100.
In this regard, SM is also scheduled to make a position on the same day.
