EXO No.1 in TTA
<EXO No.1> The group, EXO has won No.1 spot on U.S. and global at the 10th Top Ten Awards (TTA). In TTA, they competed for the position of “Best Global Artist.” TTA is an award organized by a news outlet, ’10 Asia’.This is an event where K-pop fans in 10 regions, including Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, China, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, choose the best artists through online and mobile voting.
EXO’s 2023
EXO has released its seventh full-length album ‘EXIST’ in July,2023. Based on Hanteo Chart, the album became a million seller on the day of release as 1.07 million physical copies were sold. They proved its strong presence with the initial sales record of 1.56 million physical copies sold in the first week even after half of the members’ mandatory military service.
In addition, the title song ‘Cream Soda’ boasted its power by topping music broadcasts without any activity. The group had its first comeback in three years and seven months, because of military services.
2023 TTA results
Meanwhile, from August 29 to September 11, TTA preliminary voting was held in 10 countries. The final round was then held from September 13 to September 26 for 2 weeks.
EXO No.1 in the U.S., Kang Daniel in Korea, ATEEZ in Malaysia, and Super Junior in China. In addition, ASTRO in Mexico and NCT Dream in Thailand. ENHYPEN received three No.1 awards including Japan, the Philippines, and Indonesia. In total, for the global EXO was on the top.
On the other hand, Xiumin, Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, and D.O., have finished their mandatory military services. Kai is having his time right now, and will be dismissed on February 10, 2025. The remaining member is Sehun, and people assume he will have his duty in first half of 2024.
