FIFTYFIFTY and ATTRAKT files 20 Billion won lawsuit against Warner Music Korea
ATTRAKT, the agency of FIFTYFIFTY, has filed a large-scale compensation suit with Warner Music Korea.
Attrakt said on the 23rd that it has filed a lawsuit against Jin OO, the former CEO of Warner Music Korea, and current executive director Yoon OO, who are suspected of tampering (pre-contact before the contract expires).
Attrakt said, “Warner Music Korea played a major role in the tampering process (contract dispute with former members of FIFTYFIFTY/ FIFTYFIFTY tampering controversy is going on),” adding, “They held a tampering meeting at Warner Music Korea’s headquarters on May 17, 2023, with parents of former members, and we secured all the key evidence at the time.”
“An illegal act that hindered the normal activities of former members of FIFTYFIFTY has caused enormous damage to the company,” it said, reiterating that it will hold the company strongly accountable.
Jeon Hong-joon, CEO of Attrakt, said, “Warner Music’s branch, one of the world’s top three record companies, is an unscrupulous act that cannot be forgiven for trying to rob a precious artist of a small and medium-sized Korean agency. The actual amount of damages is higher, and we plan to claim 20 billion won first and increase the amount of compensation in the future.”
In June last year, Attrakt announced the suspension of activities due to the deterioration of the members’ health, strongly raising that there are external forces that approach members and make them violate exclusive contracts with their agencies during the period, and pointed to Warner Music Korea as an external force.
