Former Ador CEO Min Hee-jin Sues HYBE PR Executives for New Jeans?

Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of Ador who recently made headlines with her resignation, has taken legal action against HYBE’s public relations executives. This move marks a significant development in the ongoing dispute between Min Hee Jin and the K-pop powerhouse HYBE.

On November 26, Min filed a complaint at Yongsan Police Station against two high-ranking HYBE PR officials. The charges allege professional breach of duty, with Min Heejin stating, “We hope that criminal punishment will be equivalent to their crimes.”
Min’s accusations target HYBE’s Chief Public Relations Officer and Head of Public Relations, claiming they failed to fulfill their responsibilities to Ador and NewJeans. Despite being part of HYBE’s shared service PR organization and receiving fees from Ador, Min alleges these executives caused “serious damage” by underperforming in their promotional duties.

The legal action follows Min’s resignation as Ador’s executive director on November 20, amid tensions with HYBE over her treatment and management of NewJeans. At the time of her resignation, Min hinted at further legal measures, stating, “We are trying to hold HYBE legally responsible for the violation of the contract between shareholders.”

In a move that’s capturing industry attention, former ADOR CEO Min is set to make her first public appearance since leaving Ador. She will participate in a talk concert titled “Women Became Genre” at Dream Plus Event Hall in southern Seoul on December 6. Her lecture, “Planner Min Hee-jin Becomes K-Pop Genre Beyond Boundaries,” is expected to draw significant interest from the public and industry insiders alike.

This legal battle and Min’s upcoming public appearance highlight the ongoing tensions in the K-pop industry, particularly between creative visionaries like Min and large entertainment conglomerates such as HYBE. The outcome of this dispute could have far-reaching implications for the future of K-pop management and artist relations.
