Kris Wu finalized sentence
Former member of ‘EXO’ Kris Wu’s request has been dismissed. He was sealed to his 13-year prison sentence. On November 24, Chinese media CCTV reported that a Beijing court rejected an appeal by Chris Wu. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison for rape and collective obscene. According to the media, Beijing’s Third Intermediate People’s Court said that Kris Wu violated women’s will and had sex using the facts that the victims were drunken.
The judge then expressed his position, saying, “In the original ruling, the facts were clear.” “The credibility of the evidence was sufficient, the conviction and application of the law were accurate, the sentence was appropriate, and the trial process was legitimate.” China has adopted a two-trial system. So the sentence will be confirmed at the appeal trial. For Kris Wu he is sentenced to 13 years.
Why Kris Wu is in court?
Earlier, Kris was sentenced to 11 years and 6 months and 1 year and 10 months in prison. He was, for sexually assaulting three women who were drunk and irresistible from November to December 2020. He also commit obscene behavior with two women in their accommodation in July 2018.
This was known to the world through the revelation of his ex-girlfriend. She added fuel to the controversy by saying she was sexually assaulted by Kris at the age of 17 and that some of other victims were minors, too.
Kris was arrested after the controversy. He appealed against the results of the first trial, but was sentenced to the same 13-year sentence in the second trial.
Meanwhile, Kris has left the team as a singer and actor in China. He left the team after filing a lawsuit against SM Entertainment in 2014. He was confirmed the absence of an exclusive contract after debuting as EXO in 2012 and working in Korea for two years.
