FTISLAND Lee Hongki defending his member, Choi Minhwan’s prostitution allegation?
FT Island Lee Hongki is being controversial because he defended Choi Min-hwan, who suspended his activities due to allegations of prostitution.
Recently, Yulhee revealed the alleged prostitution usage of her ex-husband Choi Min-hwan of FT Island. The transcript released by Yulhee caused anger as it contained the situation of Choi Minhwan trying to buy prostitutes from a person suspected of being a business officia, but there weren’t any prostitutes that was available.
In response, FNC Entertainment, an FT Island agency, announced that Choi Min-hwan would stop media activities. The controversy grew as KBS2’s “Superman is Back”, which Choi Minhwan was appearing with his three children, also decided to erase Choi Minhwan from the program.
Choi Minhwan announced that he would not attend the group’s planned schedule. He participated in the behind the stage at FT Island’s Taiwan concert on Monday, and session performers will participate in the Grand Mint Festival 2024 scheduled for November 2, with only two Lee Hong-ki and Lee Jae-jin will be performing on stage.
As Choi Min-hwan, who is embroiled in allegations of prostitution, stopped all activities, attention was also paid to whether he would leave FT Island.
However, FTISLAND Lee Hongki, a leader of the group, appeared to defend Choi Minhwan by leaving a meaningful message on the 25th, saying, “It was their personal lives, and this happened. We should admit that we did something wrong and bow down and apologize. But we should not believe everything too easily.” Later, it was reported that Lee Hongki left a comment during a concert in Taiwan to wait for the results to come out.
“The police has already started an internal investigation of sex trafficking on Choi Minhwan, so I don’t know what to wait for. Please know that no one is rooting for the person who were visiting and getting service from prostitution business,” a fan wrote on Weverse, a global fan platform, on the 26th.
However, FTISLAND Lee Hongki defended Choi Minhwan secondarily by posting a comment, “If it’s not sex trafficking or what if it’s not a prostitution business? Can you take responsibility for what you are saying?” The word “lady” appears in the conversation of Choi Minhwan had with a business official and even asks for a motel, but Lee Hongki got angry at the fan who pointed it out, and did not express disappointment at Choi Minhwan.
By these actions attention is focusing on whether Choi Min-hwan will remain on FT Island and why Lee Hong-ki should have defended him with a confident tone. Some are questioning if they had behind story of it.
