New Jeans MV restriction is not done by HYBE

In this regard, HYBE said, “HYBE does not set an age limit when we upload a music video on our YouTube channel.” “It is YouTube, who classifies it as age-restricted content based on its own standards,” they said. “We have asked the YouTube headquarters to check the exact facts and respond to what criteria the age of viewing was limited.”
Earlier, some netizens raised suspicions that HYBE intentionally classified New Jeans’ new song music video as age-restricted content. They claimed, “The age limit was placed on HYBE’s side for New Jeans’ music video,” and “HYBE is trying to lower the number of views for New Jeans’ music video.” They guessed like that as HYBE and ADOR, New Jeans’ agency, are having struggles.
On the other hand, the other side refuted, saying, “It could be an error that occurred on YouTube” and “Why would HYBE do that, is there any benefit for them?”
HYBE and ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin have been in conflict since April 22. At Ador’s extraordinary shareholders’ meeting on May 31, Min’s dismissal will be discussed.
