HYBE Employee Films NewJeans’ Vacated Dorm

ADOR’s Legal Action
On January 13, ADOR announced that it had filed for a preliminary injunction against NewJeans members in the Seoul Central District Court. The injunction aims to:
- Preserve ADOR’s status as NewJeans’ management company
- Prevent members from independently signing advertising contracts without ADOR’s consent
ADOR stated this action was necessary to prevent confusion and potential harm to third parties, including advertisers, as NewJeans members have reportedly been contacting advertisers independently.
NewJeans’ Contract Termination
NewJeans held an emergency press conference on November 28, 2024, announcing their intention to terminate their contract with ADOR effective November 29 at midnight. The group claimed that HYBE and ADOR were at fault and that they shouldn’t be liable for any contract termination penalties.
In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit on December 3 to confirm the validity of their exclusive contract with NewJeans.
Current Situation
After completing their Japanese schedule in early December, NewJeans members moved out of their ADOR-provided dormitory. They have been acting as partners with ADOR only to fulfill existing contractual obligations.
