HyunA Compares Husband Yong Junhyung to Park Bogum: “He’s Just Like Gwan-sik”
The newlywed lover says she’s finally sleeping well and feeling happy.

In a recent appearance on YouTube show Yongjin’s Tarot, HyunA opened up about her marriage to Yong Junhyung, reflecting on how much peace it has brought to her life. Referring to her husband as “very attentive,” HyunA compared him to Gwan-sik, a kind and sensitive character played by Park Bo-gum in the drama When Life Gives You Tangerine.
“He’s really like that,” HyunA said with a smile. “So detailed and caring—definitely a Gwan-sik type.” She also shared that they’ve never fought. “Even if we did, he’d win,” she joked. “But he never tries to fix me. He sees me just the way I am.”
“I used to have insomnia, now I sleep so well”
HyunA spoke candidly about how her health and daily life have changed since getting married. “I used to suffer from insomnia, but now I sleep so well. Just being in the same space with him gives me a sense of stability.” She also mentioned she’s gained some weight—partly because of happiness, and partly for health reasons—but that dancing feels a bit heavier now, so she’s back on a diet.
She described how even the most ordinary things have become meaningful. “I debuted so young, I never really experienced things like handling bank errands or requesting a family registry. After marriage, I got to do that for the first time.” Laughing, she added, “Sometimes I go out in pajamas to grab a beer. Celebs in my neighborhood tease me, saying I’ve turned into a full-on ahjumma.”
HyunA and Yong Junhyung went public with their relationship last year and announced their marriage in October 2023. Despite controversy surrounding Yong Junhyung’s past, HyunA’s latest comments show that, at least for her, this new chapter feels peaceful and healing.
