I-DLE Yuqi Faces Criticism Over Complaints About Buying Extra Concert Tickets
Fans React as Yuqi Questions Why She Has to Pay to Invite Friends
On May 13, (G)I-DLE’s Yuqi appeared on the YouTube talk show ‘Salon Drip,’ TEO, where she discussed her frustration about needing to pay out-of-pocket to invite friends to the group’s concerts. She revealed that each member is only allotted four complimentary tickets, and any additional seats must be purchased by the idols themselves—even though it’s their own show.
I-DLE Yuqi said, “Isn’t it strange that I have to use my own money for this? It’s our concert.” Minnie also shared that she had personally spent over 10 million KRW to buy 100 tickets for friends during a concert in Thailand, referring to it as her “Minnie Zone.”
The casual conversation quickly sparked backlash, especially considering the high price of tickets and the competitive nature of idol concerts in Korea. Fans voiced disappointment at the seeming disconnect between artists and the fans who pay to attend.
Knetz Reactions to I-DLE Yuqi’s Comment About Free Tickets
“I had a bad feeling about this ever since I saw the preview. The fact that no one at CUBE caught this before airing is wild. The girls might be joking for laughs, but it’s the agency’s job to flag these things. Instead, they waste energy micromanaging petty stuff.”

“Why do they keep talking about giving out free tickets every time they’re on a show? It’s seriously pissing me off… bragging about handing out a hundred tickets isn’t cute.”
— @ff_lamP
“Wow, they edited that real quick lmao 😂 But still… are they just letting this slide? Concert tickets cost a lot these days. Who’s covering the cost when you hand out free tickets to your friends??”
— @mumu1035428
“So when friends get free tickets and take time to attend, it’s a ‘thank you.’ But when fans pay their own money and make time, it’s like we have nothing better to do?”
— @ssalobyul_choi
“Guess she hasn’t had enough of capitalism’s reality yet… even in your own store, you pay for what you take. Why are fans the ones expected to cover that cost?”
— @Thinkseller1
“If you love giving out free tickets so much, why not just make it a charity concert?”
