According to the UK’s official chart released on the 5th (local time), the title song “Magnetic” of the 1st album “SUPER REAL ME” entered the top 100 of the official single for the first time.
It is the first K-pop group debut song so enter the chart. Eleven days after their debut, ILLIT also made their name on the U.K. official single chart, marking a milestone as the shortest-time K-pop artist on the chart.
The U.K. official chart is considered one of the world’s two biggest music charts along with Billboard in the U.S. Considering that ILLIT is still a K-pop newcomer with no overseas activities or promotions, these achievements are more meaningful than numbers.
ILLIT magnetic is also gaining huge popularity on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform.ILLIT, which set a new K-pop record of entering Spotify’s “Daily Top Song Global” on the day of its debut with “Magnetic,” ranked 15th on the latest Weekly Top Song Global chart (counting period from March 29 to April 4), up 175 notches from the previous week.
ILLIT has already proved its potential by making good performances in Korean music and music charts. ILLIT Magnetic was at the top of major music websites such as Melon, Bugs and Genie, and “SUPER REAL ME” sold more than 380,000 copies in its first week alone, setting a new record for the debut album of K-pop girl groups.
“Magnetic” is a song that compares the honesty of a teenage girl running at full speed to her favorite you, and was created by producers including Bang Si-hyuk, chairman of HYBE.
