ILLIT Magnetic Massive Hit
The group “ILIT” set a new record for girl groups on the Oricon chart in Japan.
According to Oricon on the 12th, the title song “Magnetic” of ILLIT’s first mini album “SUPER REAL ME” was played 117,91,413 times as of the 10th.
ILLIT Magnetic, which first appeared on the ‘Weekly Streaming Rankings’ on April 8, surpassed 100 million streams in the 11th week of entering the chart,” Oricon said. “This is the fastest single song by a girl group ever to reach 100 million streams within the same chart.”
ILLIT’s popularity is prominent not only in Japan but also in other countries around the world. “Magnetic” has already surpassed 200 million cumulative streams (as of May 21) on Spotify, which is also the shortest record for a K-pop girl group debut. In particular, they produced their first K-pop debut album and debut song, ranking 91st on the US Billboard main single chart “Hot 100” (as of April 20) and 93rd on the Billboard 200 (as of May 11) on the main album chart “SUPER REAL ME”.
It is encouraging that the group is steadily expanding its global influence even though the group is a rookie who has no overseas activities yet.
