ILLIT official account followed a fan account, however it is being a problem and a hot topic among K-pop fans. ILLIT has two official account and one of it is ILLIT members’ account and one is by the agency. The members’ account followed a fan. If it was just a fan it would be just a happy incident, however the characteristic of the fan account made this incident as a hot topic.
It is an account who was being offensive to New Jeans. New Jeans and ILLIT, they are one of the most hot topic in K-pop industry nowadays. Min Hee Jin claimed that ILLIT is a copycat of New Jeans, and even New Jeans’ parents said they can see the similarity between New Jeans and ILLIT. After that, New Jeans and ILLIT comparison were made by numerous social media accounts.
It made two fandoms to stay in intense atmosphere, and the account that ILLIT members’ followed, was being offensive to New Jeans, too. It quoted “Nothing about NewJeans is original” on Pannchoa, the account that claimed New Jeans made a plagiarism.
A fan account being offensive to another artist is not wrong, it is free will. However, people are shocked that ILLIT’s official members’ account followed an account that was being offensive to their senior group. Maybe it has done by an accident of a staff, fans are asking the agency to change the staff who take care of the account. By this following, the intense atmosphere between two fandoms got worse and fierce with other kpop lovers might have a negative image of ILLIT, so fans are asking the change.
