ITZY Renews Contract with JYP Ahead of Expiration
“Seven Years Was Too Short—We’ll Stay by Each Other’s Side”
Early Contract Renewal with Full Lineup
All five members of ITZY have officially renewed their exclusive contracts with JYP Entertainment, affirming their intent to continue forward together.
On September 20, JYP stated:
“Ahead of their contract expiration early next year, Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna have all renewed their contracts with JYP. Based on strong mutual trust, the early renewal reflects ITZY’s decision to remain with the company.”
The agency added:
“JYP will continue to fully support ITZY’s activities as a leading global girl group. We are committed to securing a wide range of opportunities to showcase each member’s unique strengths.”
Announcement Made During Fan Meeting
The group first shared the news directly with fans during their 4th official fan meeting, “ITZY The 4ce Fanmeeting—ITZY MIDZY, Let’s Fly! ON AIR”, held at KBS Arena in Seoul on the same day.
The members said:
“We chose to renew our contracts together as a way of giving back the love and support we’ve received. We were able to make this decision thanks to MIDZYs. Once we all agreed to continue as a group, we wanted you to be the first to know.”
“Seven years felt too short. There are still so many things we haven’t done together. Just as we always have, we’ve promised to stay by one another’s side. Please continue to support ITZY.”
From Rookie Group to Global Performers
Since their debut in February 2019, ITZY has earned multiple rookie awards and established themselves as one of K-pop’s top performance groups, known for their stage presence and choreography.
Their mini-album “GUESS WHO” marked their first appearance on the Billboard 200, while “CHECKMATE” later peaked at No. 8 on the same chart. In 2024, ITZY successfully completed their second world tour, “Born to Be,” with 32 performances across 28 cities, strengthening their reputation as a globally recognized group.
Upcoming Activities
ITZY members are scheduled to hold a three-day solo fan meeting in Tokyo from October 11 to 13, continuing their efforts to engage with global fans following the announcement of their renewed contracts.
