Jennie Mantra has banned from KBS, why?
Member of Blackpink and a soloist Jennie’s new solo song “Mantra” has been declared ineligible for broadcasting by KBS.
According to the KBS music review results on October 23rd, Jennie’s “Mantra” was disqualified because it violated Article 46 (restrictions on advertising effects) of the broadcasting review regulations, including mentioning the brand of a specific product. The lyrics of Jennie’s Mantra included “Cuz we had to do a In-N-Out drive-by.” Among them, “In-N-Out” is the name of the hamburger brand, so KBS thought it is disqualifying.
If a person is judged to be ineligible, he/she may revise or delete the part in question for reconsideration. Only songs that have been judged to be eligible can be broadcast on KBS programs (TV, radio, etc.).

Jennie, who left her former agency YG, started her solo career by setting up a one-man agency. She released “Mantra” on the 11th and made her first comeback since becoming a solo artist. According to the latest Billboard chart (Oct. 26), Jennie’s new single “Mantra” entered the Billboard main single chart “Hot 100” at No. 98. At the same time, “Mantra” ranked No. 2 on the “Global (excluding the U.S.)” chart and No. 3 on the “Global 200” chart.
