Jennie Ruby Jane makes official denial
Jennie, a member of the group BLACKPINK, expressed her position on the fandom (fan club) name.
On the 19th, an official from Jennie’s agency, OA Entertainment, told several news outlets, “Rubies is the name of news pages that deliver news to fans,” adding, “It is not an official fandom name.”
Earlier, Jennie released a voice message on her official channel, saying, “Hello Rubies. I’m Jennie. Please watch, see you soon.”
Netizens speculated that Jennie’s personal fandom name could be ‘Rubies,’ as she called it, which was controversial because it was the same as singer Kwon Eun-bi’s fandom name. In response, Jennie’s side explained, saying that it was not an official fandom name.
However, the term “Ruby” is special to Jennie. Jennie’s English name is “Jennie Ruby Jane.” She also registered her trademark right before.
Meanwhile, Jennie has signed a partnership with Columbia Records, a major U.S. record label, and will come back with a new solo album in October.
