Agency Cuts Ties After Media Reports, Ju Haknyeon Says Allegations Are False
On June 19, Korean outlet News1 reported that Ju Haknyeon attended a private bar gathering in Tokyo’s Roppongi district on May 30 with several acquaintances, including former AV actress Asuka Kirara. According to the report, the two were seen engaging in light physical contact, prompting public speculation of overseas prostitution.
In response, Onehundred stated, “As soon as we were informed of Ju Haknyeon’s involvement in this private matter, we suspended his activities and conducted a thorough internal review. Based on the seriousness of the issue and loss of trust, we have decided to terminate his exclusive contract following discussions with THE BOYZ members.”
Ju Haknyeon, who debuted with THE BOYZ in 2017 after appearing on Produce 101 Season 2, posted a handwritten statement on his personal social media, admitting he was present at the drinking event but firmly denying any illegal activity.
He wrote, “It is true that I attended a late-night drinking party with acquaintances on May 30. However, I did not engage in prostitution or any illegal conduct as reported or speculated in rumors.” He further added, “I am deeply reflecting on my actions and sincerely apologize to everyone who was shocked or disappointed.”
