A Historic First for K-pop on Spotify

BTS member Jungkook has achieved another groundbreaking milestone with his solo single “Seven” (feat. Latto). According to Spotify’s August 18 chart, the track has officially surpassed 2.5 billion streams, making it the first Korean song ever to reach this figure.

Jungkook’s Global Solo Success

Beyond “Seven”, Jungkook’s solo catalog has amassed over 9.4 billion streams, the highest for any K-pop solo artist. His solo album “GOLDEN” (released in November 2023) is also nearing 6 billion streams, further cementing his global dominance.

The single continues to show remarkable chart longevity: “Seven” topped the Billboard Hot 100, Global 200, and Global Excl. U.S. upon release and remains a record-setter as the fastest track in Spotify history to surpass 1 billion streams (just 108 days). It also earned recognition from Billboard’s International Power Players list as one of the most popular songs worldwide outside the U.S.

“Seven” has charted for over 108 weeks on Billboard’s Global 200 and 109 weeks on Global Excl. U.S., proving its long-term global appeal.

Award-Winning Track and Musical Impact

The track swept major international awards, including the 2023 MTV VMAs, MTV EMAs, Billboard Music Awards, and the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, solidifying Jungkook’s status as a global pop star.

Musically, “Seven” blends a catchy melody, warm acoustic guitar, and UK garage-inspired rhythm, delivering a heartfelt serenade about wanting to spend every day with a loved one. Its universal appeal has made it one of Jungkook’s most celebrated solo works.
