JYP Entertainment Artists to Shine at Lollapalooza Chicago
TWCIE to KICK FLIP and Xdinary Heroes
JYP Entertainment artists are set to make a significant impact at the upcoming Lollapalooza Chicago music festival. The festival organizers announced the lineup through their official social media channels on March 18 (local time). TWICE, the globally renowned K-pop girl group, will take the stage as a headliner at Lollapalooza Chicago, scheduled to take place from July 31 to August 3 at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois.
KickFlip, a rookie boy group that debuted in January, will be performing at the festival just about six months after their debut, highlighting their rapid rise to prominence. Additionally, the boy band Xdinary Heroes has also been included in the performance lineup. Lollapalooza, which originated in Chicago in 1991, has since expanded to various locations worldwide, including France, Germany, Chile, and Brazil, and is known for featuring a diverse range of musical acts.
However, the announcement has sparked controversy among K-pop fans, particularly those who supports ITZY and NMIXX, two other popular groups under JYP Entertainment. The absence of these established acts from the lineup has led to disappointment and frustration within their respective fanbases.

Netizens reaction to absence of ITZY and NMIXX
Some were unable to understand JYP Entertainment’s decision, that ITZY and NMIXX could not perform at Lollapalooza, but KICK FLIP got the chance.
Some other netizens talked about KICK FLIP’s popularity, that no one would sing along with the group.
However, some other opinions popped up, too. As Lolloapalooza is a festival, the line up is always filled with big stars and small rookies. So some say there is no problem for Kick Flip to attend the festival.
