Kep1er Huening Bahiyyih Reveals Brother TXT’s Huening Kai Advised Her on Contract Renewal
K-pop girl group Kep1er has officially become the first project group formed through an audition program to successfully renew their contracts. Member Huening Bahiyyih shared that during the renewal process, she received heartfelt advice from her older brother, Huening Kai of TXT, making the moment even more meaningful.
Comeback With Seventh Mini-Album BUBBLE GUM
Kep1er (members Choi Yujin, Xiaoting, Kim Chaehyun, Kim Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, and Seo Youngeun) is set to make their highly anticipated comeback with their seventh mini-album BUBBLE GUM on August 19, marking their return after nine months.
Leader Choi Yujin revealed in an interview with Xports News:
“There were two candidates for the title track, but BUBBLE GUM had a chorus that was so addictive. It felt like a song with endless possibilities for us to showcase on stage, so we decided to choose it.”
Huening Bahiyyih also explained how her family got involved in the decision:
“When I was debating the title track, I let my family listen to the options. Both my sister and brother felt BUBBLE GUM was more public-friendly and would appeal to a lot of people. It was really nice to go through that process with them.”
Huening Kai’s Guidance During Renewal Talks
As the younger sister of TXT’s Huening Kai, Bahiyyih reflected on what it means to have a sibling in the same industry:
“Having my brother in K-pop feels more like a strength than a drawback. It’s reassuring, and when our activities overlap, it’s fun to run into each other.”
She added that Huening Kai played an important role during contract renewal:
“My brother told me to always get along well with the members. His words about unity and sticking together gave me so much strength.”
A More Mature Kep1er on Stage
The members also promised a new level of maturity with this comeback. Kim Dayeon shared:
“If we’ve shown energetic choreography in the past, this time we hope fans can see a more mature side of us.”
Leader Choi Yujin emphasized the group’s chemistry:
“There are many performances where each member’s individuality really shines. I hope people focus on the energy and chemistry between us.”
With BUBBLE GUM, Kep1er not only showcases their growth as artists but also solidifies their position as a project group that has defied the odds by renewing their contracts — a milestone that could set new precedents in the K-pop industry.
