Kep1er Tipi-Tap, 2 members depart new Kep1er is ready

The girl group Kep1er, which reorganized its team from the nine members to seven members, returned with the determination to show further growth.
Kep1er recently met with reporters at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and said, “We pledged to work harder together so that we don’t feel empty (of the members who left the team),” adding, “We will not lose our color as much as you waited.”
Kep1er’s sixth mini-album “TIPI-TAP,” which will be released on the 1st, is the first production since the member reorganization.
Kep1er, a group which was formed through Mnet’s audition “Girls Planet 999” in 2021, has recently renewed its contracts with seven members to continue its activities. It is the first time that a project group formed by Mnet has extended its activities by renewing its contract.
“I really liked how the members loved the stage and didn’t lose their passion,” Kim Chaehyun said. “I had a lot of thoughts about what I could do if it wasn’t for these members, but I’m happy to come back in a good way with the members.”
The members maintained Kep1er’s identity while trying to make changes with various attempts musically. “Everything is new except for the group’s name,” said member Xiaoting.
Along with the title song of the same name, five songs are included, including the dance song “sync-love,” the song “Drip,” which expresses the ecstasy of falling for an unknown opponent, and the hip-hop-based R&B song “Bitter Taste.”
“I wanted to expand our musical spectrum after being reorganized into a seven-person system,” HUENING BAHIYYIH said. “You’ll see a variety of musical concepts in this album, and that’s the biggest change.”
The title song is based on the genre of hyper-pop (future-oriented sound mixed with elements such as electronic music, dance, and hip-hop). The title “TIPI-TAP” is an English word for origami, commonly known as “east, west, north, and south,” expressing the process of exploration to find love with repetitive chorus and speedy melodies.
Choi Yu-jin said, “It’s our first hyper-pop genre, so I thought I could show a new look,” and emphasized, “The chorus that repeats the lyrics ‘TIPI-TAP’ is highly addictive.”
Kepler says they want to make a new hit song following his debut song “WA DA DA”.
“I don’t think we stood out even if we had the color, but I hope this time it will be an opportunity for many people to say Kepler’s name again.” (Kim Chae-hyun)
