Kepler 7 members system will be made
“Kep1er” is the first project group to successfully renew its contract through an audition program from the Mnet.
According to the agencies, Wake One and Swing Entertainment on the 30th, the company agreed to renew its contract with Choi Yujin, Xiaoting, Kim Chaehyun, Kim Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, and Seo Youngeun, who are active as Kepler.
Accordingly, Kepler, which started with nine members, continues its domestic and international activities with a seven-member system even after the project group’s activities are over.
However, Masiro and Kang Ye Seo made a decision to leave the team. Their last stages as Kepler to be presented by the activities of their first full-length album, “Kep1going On,” which will be released on June 3rd.
Wake One and Swing Entertainment said, “We have been discussing our future activities for a long time with Masiro, Kang Ye Seo, as well as the member’s agency, but we met the conclusion to end our activities as Kepler,” adding, “We sincerely thank Masiro and Kang Ye Seo for doing their best in all their activities as Kepler over the past two years and six months, and we will continue to support them.”
Kepler is the first Mnet project group to successfully renew the contract even though it is not a complete group. Previously, I.O.I., Wanna One, and IZ*ONE did not renew their contracts, but only extended them for a certain period of time.
Kepler was formed through Mnet’s “Girls’ Planet 999: Girl’s Daejeon” in 2021. With its debut song “WADADA” and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan for the shortest time in K-pop girl group history at the time.
