World Vision, an international relief and development NGO, announced on the 28th that Stray Kids member Lee Know became a member of the “Bob Pierce Honor Club.”
The Bob Pierce Honor Club is a big-money supporter group named after the founder of World Vision, Bob Pierce. Among the sponsors whose cumulative donation is more than 100 million won, sponsors who sympathize with various global issues and take the lead in promoting the value of sharing are appointed as members. The Bob Pierce Honor Club is a donation group that encourages the establishment of a culture of donation by transparently disclosing the results of sponsorship, and people from all walks of life, including JYP Entertainment producer Park Jin Young, are spreading the value of sharing in various fields of society.
History of Lee Know and World Vision
In January, Lee Know donated 100 million won to the World Vision Global Food Crisis Response Project to help children in the poorest countries who are facing food shortages due to rapid climate change. In February last year, he also participated in emergency relief for the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
In addition, starting with the sponsorship of World Vision overseas children in 2014, it has formed ties with a total of four domestic and foreign children so far, and is taking the lead in sharing activities for underprivileged neighbors by actively sponsoring domestic projects.
Lee Know said, “I would appreciate it if my power could be helpful for domestic and foreign children,” adding, “I will think about what I can do in my place and deliver the love I received.”
“Lee Know, who has shown constant interest and support for children in need, has become the youngest member of the Bob Pierce Honor Club ever,” said Cho Myung Hwan, chairman of World Vision. “We will make more efforts to ensure that Lee Know’s good influence can be communicated well through World Vision.”
Meanwhile, Stray Kids Bang Chan, Lee Know, Hyunjin, Han, and Seungmin met 16 teenagers who are dreaming of becoming singers in October last year with World Vision and held Dream Day. Dream Day was organized by mentors and mentees to share their concerns about their careers and support the dreams of children and adolescents as part of the World Vision Dream Support Project, “Dreaming Children.” Stray Kids Bang Chan, Lee Know, Hyunjin, Han, and Seungmin had mentoring sessions by telling stories about their experiences, giving advice, and giving choreography lessons in person.
