Lee Yi Kyung Faces Private Life Allegations, Accuser Claims ‘Proof’ Despite Actor’s Denial
Actor Lee Yi Kyung has become the center of a growing controversy as his agency moves toward legal action following online claims about his private life. The actor has firmly denied all allegations, while the accuser insists they possess “additional proof.”
On October 20, Sangyoung ENT, Lee’s agency, issued an official statement announcing plans to pursue legal proceedings against the individual responsible for spreading the claims. The agency described the circulating posts as “entirely false” and vowed to respond strictly.
“We are preparing legal measures concerning the false information and malicious rumors currently being circulated online and on social media,” the agency stated. “Given the seriousness of the matter, we are assessing both direct and indirect damages and will take every necessary action.”
Earlier this week, an anonymous post titled “Revealing the Real Lee Yi Kyung” surfaced in an online community. The poster uploaded what they claimed were screenshots of messages exchanged with the actor on KakaoTalk and Instagram DMs, alleging that Lee led a promiscuous private life. The post quickly went viral before being deleted.
Lee’s side strongly denied the accusations, asserting that the poster had repeatedly demanded money and attempted to blackmail the actor. The agency said that Lee had never engaged in the behaviors described and that he was the target of false and malicious defamation.
However, on October 21, the accuser reappeared online, releasing a new video they claimed showed a chat recorded from Lee Yi Kyung’s verified account. The authenticity of the video remains unverified, and no digital forensics have been presented to confirm its legitimacy.
The poster identified themselves as a German national with limited Korean proficiency and attempted to justify their request for money, writing:
“I asked if he could lend me 500,000 won because I was struggling financially. I said I would definitely pay it back.”
The case has quickly divided public opinion, with some questioning the credibility of the evidence and others calling for a full investigation.
As of now, Lee Yi Kyung’s agency has filed reports to authorities and continues to monitor online activity for further defamation. The situation remains under review, and no official charges or legal outcomes have been confirmed.
