MADEIN Scandal: Ex-Member Sues 143 Entertainment CEO for Alleged Sexual Misconduct
Former MADEIN Member Files Police Complaint Against CEO
A former member of the K-pop girl group MADEIN has filed a police complaint against 143 Entertainment CEO Lee Yong-hak, accusing him of sexual harassment and assault, as well as violating Korea’s Child and Youth Protection Act.
The case was made public at a press conference on April 29, attended by the victim’s mother, legal representatives, a former company staff member, and labor rights activists.
Allegations of Sexual Misconduct and Abuse of Power
According to the statements made during the press conference, the CEO allegedly called the underage idol to his office in October 2024, where he subjected her to hours of verbal abuse, threats, and ultimately, unwanted physical contact.
Although the CEO initially admitted to inappropriate conduct and wrote a handwritten apology, he later denied the allegations and continued to interfere with the victim’s activities within the agency.

143 Entertainment’s Response and Disputed Settlement Claims
143 Entertainment has denied the allegations, claiming that many of the victim’s assertions are untrue.
The company further stated that the victim’s side had demanded a large settlement before filing the complaint — a claim that the victim’s legal team strongly disputes.
Evidence Presented at the Press Conference
During the conference, the victim’s side presented critical evidence, including a handwritten statement of apology and audio recordings that support their claims.
A former A&R team leader at 143 Entertainment also testified, describing a culture of manipulation, favoritism toward minors, and delayed salary payments for staff.
Calls for Accountability and Stricter Protection for Minors
The victim’s legal representatives demanded an official apology, immediate termination of the exclusive contract, and strict punishment for the CEO.
They also stated plans to submit additional evidence to authorities and seek intervention from Korea’s Ministry of Culture and human rights organizations.
This case has reignited public concern over the safety of minors in the K-pop industry, prompting calls for stronger protections and more transparent handling of abuse cases.
